From a Verizon Wireless online rep today: "waiting 3-6 months if not longer." I question this answer, but that is what the person said. If any Verizon Customer Support personnel have other information, it would be appreciated. I have been wondering if I should keep waiting or just give up and order something else.

Agreed, I am very interested in this phone and I have been monitoring since official release. I am hoping with Xmas just around the corner this phone would be available by then? Can we even get confirmation that this phone WILL be coming to Verizon? On some of the android forums there is concern is will never come because there hasn't ever been any listed CDMA freq. support for this phone....
If not, I am likely to switch providers to get it at another carrier...I have been a verizon wireless customer for 20 years! Come on Verizon...you need to keep the completely portfolio of phones available to your customers....there are 50% of us who don't want to be "owned" by Apple with their hands in our pockets....
mergs, I just checked AT&T today and they do have the Samsung 5 Mini available! I have been considering switching also because this is THE phone I have been waiting for. How can the Verizon reps not know when this device is coming out?! I'll give it until this summer but if the Samsung 5 Mini isn't available through Verizon, I'm switching to AT&T. I too have been a long term customer of Verizon's and you are correct to say they need to step it up!!!
Add me to the list of people that have been patiently and anxiously awaiting the S5 Mini. I've been waiting to switch to Verizon as soon as this phone becomes available but it sounds like it might not ever happen.
I just can't understand this odd veil of secrecy on its potential debut. Surely someone high up at Verizon must know whether it will be carried or not. This waiting isn't exactly building anticipation for a phone that's already been released to the European and Asian markets several months ago. It should be an easy yes or no. Deferring (potential) customers to Verizon's announcements page is just condescending.

They are selling cases for the S5 mini at the kiosk of my local mall. The sides of the packaging say and I quote from the box "Fits S5 mini Verizon". So, the phone will be released. I've heard, working in the mobile industry it should be somewhere around early 2015.

I still find it funny how Verizon wants to remain secretive about upcoming phone releases and tells customers to check out their news page for new phone releases. When a customer asks when a particular phone is going to be available from Verizon, it would be better for Verizon to tell them an estimated release date instead of letting them wonder if they should wait or not. Without any information the customer has to decide if they should get one of the current phones or wait for a phone that may never get released by them. If they decide not to wait and get one of the current phones and then shortly after the return period expires for the phone they purchased the one they really wanted gets released, they're going to be a disappointed, annoyed and unhappy customer.
I would think that if Verizon if going to ever release the Galaxy S5 Mini they would want to do it before Samsung announces the Galaxy S6 which will probably be in March. I stumbled across this topic because I really want to know if Verizon is ever going to carry the Galaxy S5 Mini because my friend wants a smaller Android phone with a good camera, not something with a 5+" screen. There are others under consideration like the HTC One Remix and the Kyocera Brigadier but the Galaxy S5 Mini would be the best choice for the features that he's looking for.
The HTC Thunderbolt comes to mind of a phone they announced, but was delayed in releasing it.
I'm not positive, but the Galaxy S4 Mini might not have come to VZW until shortly before the Galaxy S5 was announced.

Ann154 I don't think you understood my point. I wasn't saying that Verizon never delays a phone after it's announced. I was saying that Verizon customer service reps never give an answer to people on this forum who ask when a particular phone will be available from Verizon (like in this thread). Every customer service rep responds with something like "when it's announced you can read it about here" with a link to the Verizon news page as if customers are so interested in Verizon news that they're going to go and check the news page on a regular basis for new phone announcements. That's just laughable. It would be better for people follow Verizon on Twitter or Facebook to find out about new phone releases.
The Galaxy S4 Mini for Verizon was announced by Samsung in October 2013 and was released by Verizon in November 2013 (along with the Galaxy S3 Mini) about 3 months before the Galaxy S5 was announced in February 2014.

I find it laughable they always try to sell you something or are like, we can't help you with this, but we can upgrade you to a certain other device. I went to the mall the other day, tons among tons of S5 Mini Verizon accessories. It's coming, but I wish we could know when.
At a legitimate Verizon store? Are you sure these we not Galaxy Core Prime accessories?
We're talking a mall-type store. This would be like Cellairis, etc. It has Verizon branding on the case. Galaxy core prime is out of the question here.
Us cellular started carrying it now...does that mean you will shortly Verizon? Both CDMA carriers.
