My wife's S8 keep dropping the WiFi connection but my S7 does not. Has Verizon built in some sort of glitch in her phone? She keeps forgetting to check before she starts using up all the data.

If your wife's phone beleives the wifi signal is not strong enough it will switch over to verizon mobile data to complete the task. To prevent this keep mobile data turned off.

Verizon has zero to do with manufacturing phones. Sounds more like her phone has a poor WiFi card.

We are sorry to read that your wife's phone is having an issue keeping a stable Wi-Fi connection @jandean. Rest assured we gain nothing from a problem such as this, and you have our commitment to helping you get to the bottom of this concern. To better assist you, we'd like to ask some questions. When did this issue start? Has she enabled any battery saver settings that could possibly be turning off Wi-Fi when she is not using it, to save battery?
