Any luck with this?? I'm reading this thread and getting so annoyed because the Verizon people keep just giving the same canned response. It had to be a Verizon/Android issue. Other people I know with Androids who don't have Verizon don't have this problem. I'm so close to giving up Verizon and switching to another carrier.

Note 8 here been fighting this issue for months now. I'm giving it another week or so and I'm switching providers. Been a loyal customer for 10 years now but looks like this issue is never going to be addressed or fixed.

Ugh it's so frustrating, and every time I try to reach out I just get the same canned response. They obviously just don't care.

Is seems these VZW people are trained to act very sympathetic and to do anything they can to keep customers. Unfortunately they usually do nothing but ask questions that had they read complete threads they would know the answers to.

TranceGoD, we know how important our phones are for our daily use, and not having a fully working phone is never fun. We value your loyalty of 10 years, and we want to provide you with the service that you deserve. Could you please elaborate more on what is happening with your Note 8? When did these issues start?

Dear support,
Multiple threads discussions and questions have already been raised about this major issue. Please do not act as if you are not aware of this and this is the first reported incident. Just to outline the issue yet another time the problem is with MMS (group text) only. This has been reported from multiple Android devices ranging from Galaxy 8, 9, and now Note 8 (myself). When a group text is selected and multiple recipients are selected the texts will get stuck. For example when I send a text reply in a discussion my message will get stuck with a sending and everything will freeze. I will at this point not be able to send or receive any message within that group text. I can text any individual from that group just fine one on one. No issues when texting a single individual. But, time and time again messages will get stuck when sending. Airplane mode on and off does not help, switching message apps does not help, and not even factory reset helps as I've done all 3 with zero success. The only way issue clears is after about 5-10 minutes all backed up messages start coming in one after another. You can only imagine how many messages can repopulate at once if you are heavy group text. So in these cases like many we will get one message after another back, to back. to back.
Now another discussion notes that this is a firmware issue and Verizon is working on it. So what's the actual truth? Is Verizon aware of this issue? Are you really working on it? Or should we all switch to another provider who does not have this major issue?
PS Issue was noticed I want to say early this year and until now I been trying multiple fixes with no success. Please reply back with actual answer and report of what's being done to fix this.

TranceGoD,
We understand this must be frustrating for you. Group messages are a great way to communicate. We have lifted this issue up and are working with the software developers and the manufacturer to determine the root cause. We do have a lot of examples, but I assure you this does not happen to every user. It is difficult to narrow down the root cause. I have the S9 myself and do not run into this issue. Is your software up to date for both the applications and the device? We will follow up on any forums once we determine a fix for this issue.

Multiple people effected have been patiently waiting for this fix for months now. I'm still having this same issue as I type this. I have a group message and now it froze and I can't send or receive anything. To say this whole ordeal has been very disappointing and frustrating is an understatement.

Having messages get stuck is exasperating, TranceGoD. We definitely want to get to the bottom of what's causing this delay, and keep you in the Verizon family. In order to provide the best details to both the software developer and the manufacturer, we do have some questions to gather the necessary details. What software version is on your device? https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-214471/
As you also indicated that changing messaging applications didn't help, which applications did you use (i.e. default app, messages +, third party app, etc.)? Were those applications up to date as well? This can be checked by going to Google Play, choosing My Apps, then checking for updates.

Same exact issue on my S8. Used stock message, message+, google message all the same **bleep** problem.
My buddy is on the same group text with an S8 and different carrier and has no issues. I have it ALL THE TIME.
That it hasn't been fixed or prioritized as a critical issue is astounding.

I have written about this in multiple threads. It has been on here in various threads for years. Verizon does nothing except the same beginning troubleshooting that never works. Please do not respond before reading this thread and the 10 others like it. Nothing is fixed years later. same problem

I've had this same issue for years. Thought it was the messaging app, tried several different ones and nope, its not the app. In that time I upgraded from an S8+ to an S10+ and still happening on this phone. It has to be the network. When I am in a group chat and several people are messaging, especially people who like to send a lot of short messages in a row instead of type out a paragraph, the MMS on my entire phone hangs for about 10 minutes, with all my messages stuck in a "sending..." state, and nothing coming in. Then all of a sudden, boom, I get tens of messages I've missed while the MMS network was hung up.

We're sorry to read that you're having trouble with your messaging service. We'd love to help you correct this situation. Please tell us more. Does this happen with both Messages app and Messages+ app? Do you have any issues with your data service? Are all these picture messages o just regular text messages?

This issue is related to the number. Not the software. I have gone through multiple models all with the mms issue. It's not the phone it's the number at the tower level. I have given up I love my number too much.

Macdroid40ounce, we want our messaging service to work for you. We are here to help.
What specifically are you experiencing when trying to send and receive a MMS(picture message)? What messaging app are you using on your phone?

I am really glad I found this thread. I thought it was just my local service and I've been struggling to resolve this issue for a year. The previous posters nailed the issue exactly.
At least the community was able to figure out that (a) clearly this is a Verizon software issue and not my phone (S9+) and (b) the pre-canned support group is going to do nothing to help us. I've been trying to start and restart my system until it worked but, like the previous commenters mentioned, you just need to wait 15 minutes to an hour for a flood of out-of-order texts to come through.
Small consolation but now I know what to expect both from my texts and Verizon. I'll continue to monitor this thread to see if anything ever gets fixed.
