With Google's announcement of the Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P, I want to check that I can use either on the Verizon network if I buy one through the Google store.
Solved! Go to Correct Answer
Just use a SIM from your currently activated phone to activate the new Nexus.
Came here to ask the same question but you beat me to it.
same here....i am actually chatting with a verizon rep and this is what they are telling me.......
If the device is a CDMA unlocked or GSM unlocked, you can use the device here with Verizon. That is what I can guarantee you.
Just use a SIM from your currently activated phone to activate the new Nexus.
I would like to know this as well...
While the SIM is transferable, I believe Verizon would need to have the IMEI of the phone whitelisted as well.
The device should work without the IMEI being white listed. They will display as Unknown Device on your MyVerizon account online until the manufacturers send the database of compatible IMEI numbers to Verizon Wireless to add to the main database.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
Even if you're correct, not everyone's current phone uses a nano-SIM.
So, use a SIM adapter.
Any corporate store can get the sim activated no problem. If a person wants to do it themselves they can use a Sim adapter and activate it on their old device then swap the sim.
