About a month ago I had to reset my Yahoo password. I updated it on my phone and had no problem getting my email, but when it would automatically look for new mail I would often get an error message saying it could not connect. In the past few days I've noticed that I've been getting this message more and more, and my emails less and less. Today it completely stopped working and started telling me that the user name or password was incorrect. So I turned off my phone and it didn't help. Then I deleted the account. Now it won't let me add the account. When I put in my sign on and password and hit "next" for the automatic set up, it gives me an error. Sometimes it tells me that my username or password is wrong. Sometimes it tells me that it can't connect to the server. When I try the manual set up and choose IMAP (which yahoo tells me to do but offers no settings or instructions) it tells me again it can't connect to the server.
Any thoughts?
download the yahoo mail app or k-9 mail
this seems to be an ongoing issue with yahoo, they want people to pay 2.99 for push email
I had to change my password for Yahoo to a completely new one, then it started working. But it wasn't easy to set up. took several attempts.
