activation problems

So I just got my Galaxy Nexus.  Did the activation through Activate or Switch Device and it said it was successful.  Unfortunately my phone cannot connect to the network.  Any calls I make I get a screen saying Mobile Network Not Available.  If I try and redo the Activate or Switch Device process it has my Galaxy Nexus there as my device but it says pending next to it.  I've tried rebooting and popping the sim in and out multiple times.  Any help is greatly appreciated.
