Hello, I recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy S21 5GUltra After 15+ hours of troubleshooting with Verizon went nowhere I tinkered on my own and managed to get texting and calling working. The catch is that I can only make and receive calls and texts when I am on wifi. verizon support has not been able to help me. What should I do to get my new phone working? If it matters, I have recently switched from iPhone

gildedpear We're sorry to read about the issue with your device and we want to help. Did you turn off iMessage on your iPhone before you switched to this device? Are you using a SIM card or eSIM on the Samsung device? ~Peter

The only progress I made from not being able to call or text at all to being able to only do it on Wi-Fi was disabling iMessage which none of your customer support agents told me to do and I only found out that I had to do that after about an hour of taking the depths of your FAQ. I am using a physical sim, as the countless e-sims that have been attempted to be installed by your support have not worked.

gildedpear, we want to make sure you're able to stay connected. To clarify, are voice and messaging services now working on your device when not connected to Wi-Fi? If not, when you disable Wi-Fi, what signal do you see on your phone? To be sure, what troubleshooting has been completed on the phone?

If I am connected to Wi-Fi I can make and receive calls and texts. When I disconnect from Wi-Fi the cell bars on the top right hand side of my phone turn into a circle with a line through it. If I try to make any calls or texts when I am not on Wi-Fi I get this error of verbatim: "Your phone's not registered on a network, so you
can only make emergency calls.".

That is indeed strange behavior if you're only able to use calling and texting while connected to Wi-Fi, gidledpear. Does this issue seem to follow you everywhere, or is this only happening at specific locations? Is your phone a Verizon branded model, or a factory unlocked model? Do you know any other Verizon users or devices having a similar problem with their service?

Hello, AmirE, we want to help make sure you are able to communicate no matter where you go. What happens when trying to make a call or send a message without WiFi? Did you recently change devices as well? If so, does your My Verizon account show the correct phone attached to your number?

Any resolution on this? I have the exact same problem. I noticed it start happening a few weeks ago. The weird thing is that I get cell service east of Oconomowoc, but once I go west I lose service and can't make calls or texts. BUT, if I have wifi calling enabled and have a wifi connection, then it recognizes me on the verizon network. I have a samsung galaxy s22 ultra. I spent hours on the phone troubleshooting. Switched the physical sim card to eSim. Tried several new eSims but nothing helped. Verizon is sending me a new phone but I'm nervous the new phone is going to have the same issue. My wife has an iPhone and isn't having any problems.

Natashalroman, we want to make sure that we address your issue regarding your texts/calls. Does this happen everywhere? Is this issue happening with other devices on your Verizon account or just your device?
