downloading pictures from the USB

My pc is not recognizing the phone or USB.  I want to download thru the USB plug in.  I have windows XP.

I thought I was onto something when I found usb drivers at the following url:

Device(Install),USB Driver (Software) (ver.1.3.550.0)

Alas... no help. When I plug in the usb cable the phn makes a beep tone, but nothing else happens

just a follow up: the tone the phone makes when I plug in the usb cable from the computer is exactly the same tone the phone makes when I plug it into the desktop docking station. hmm?
