force close loop : URGENT

About one week ago I received a refurb replacement Verizon Fascinate for my first Verizon Fascinate, which had over heating issues and missed call problems…

I was adding a new bookmark to the home page this morning when I got this message, “The process com.sec.android.app.twlauncher has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.” From that point on, the homepage was blank, and every time I tried opening one of the three remaining buttons (Messenger, Phone, Contacts, or Applications) I would get the same message. I’m stuck in a force close loop apparently. The only think my phone will allow me to do is read/respond to emails and texts and only when “new message” icon appears at the top of the drag down screen.  I cannot access anything else, no apps, no settings, nothing.  To make things worse; I am on a business trip and won’t be able to reach a Verizon store until next week.

PLEASE HELP!!

That is attached to the Clock Calendar Widget and you need to disable that widget, try booting into safe mode and see if you can access the widget and remove it from any pages that it is loaded to...

Access Safe Mode by following this link,,,, http://support.vzw.com/clc/devices/knowledge_base.html?id=40882

If that doesnt work then you can do a hard reset by...

How tohard reset on Samsung Fascinate:

First, try this:
1. From the main home screen, tap menu
2. Tap Settings, then Privacy
3. Tap Factory data reset
4. Tap Reset phone
5. Enter your password, then tap Yes to confirm

If that doesn’t work, or if your phone is frozen:
1. Turn the power off. If your Samsung Fascinate is frozen, pull the battery out and reinsert it
2. Hold the Volume Down button
3. Press and release the Power button
4. You are now presented with a menu that allows for Fastbook, Recovery, Clear Storage, and Simlock
5. Select Clear Storage by pressing the Volume Down button
6. Press and release the Power button
7. Now simply confirm your decision: Volume Up for YES and Volume Down for NO
