home screen icons

okay in playing with my new phone i removed the contacts from the home screen greyed out part and now I can;t seem to get it back here.  When I grab it and drag to that location it turns into the trash can.  Anyone know how to put it back?  Thanks for the help!

 Try this! Do a battery pull on the device. Once the device is powered back up the home screen will load up. Press and  hold the contacts icon then drag the icon where you would like for it be.

Or another easy way would have been to go to applications. menu, edit, and drag the contacts icon back to the bottom area of the screen where the phone, messages, and application icons are.
