invalid recipients

I'm curious as to why when trying to compose a new text message to a friend of mine in my Contacts, I am getting 'Invalid Recipient' notification. Below it says '(contact name) will not be added to the recipients list'

Does anyone know who to resolve this??

TIA

I found this issue to be related to imported contacts.  The import included the () around the area code and the - (dash) between the exchange and the number.  I removed these formatting characters and put in the full 10 digits with no formatting i.e. 8885551212.

However, when you look at the contact in the list of contacts the contact manager displays the number with the formatting characters but if you edit the contact the formatting characters aren't included so evidently Message+ is interpreting the imported formatting characters as part of the number.  Once these were removed it worked great.

This is a mystery morgan2005! What text messaging application do you use? Does this happen to all contacts or just one? What is your phones' software version? I want to help!

I had this same issue. My fix was deleting that contacts area code then saving again. The contacts area code was the same as mine. It worked for me I hope this helps.

I had the same issue when using Message+ on my Mac. My phone was fine, but Message+ would not recognize one of my contacts. I tried changing the phone number format, but that did not work. So I recreated the contact, and it works. Must be something wrong in the contact itself that corrupts the database to make it unreadable by some programs (specifically, Message+)
