new email/message counter

I'm just wondering if this is just a problem with my phone....I had the droid eris prior and before that windows mobile phones and anytime I had an icon/widget on the homescreen for email/vm/messages there would be a number on/next to it that indicated how many unread there were and the icons/widgets on my fascinate (other than visual voicemail) do not have the unread count....is this the same for everyone's phones....it's a small thing but, i like to be able to look and see how many unread i have.

This is not a capability of all phones. The number of un-read or voicemail messages, will be accessible once you have accessed the menu for your text or voicemail.  Hope this helps!
