purple tinting......

I am now on my 2nd nexus in 4 days and going in the morning to get my 3rd. First one the power button and the volume buttons stopped working. 2nd nexus screen has turned everything black/grey/dark grey purple when the brightness is below ~20% and has noticeable horizontal lines in the screen. This is starting to get a little old since I just bought the 1st nexus march 28/12 and i'm already going to be on my 3rd phone. Is verizon actually letting the phones be sold like this? O man i hope the 3rd time is the charm. Who else is having/had these kind of problems?

And yes i actually use this phone with the brightness less than ~20% in my house because it makes my eyes hurt if it's any brighter.
