I am using the note 4 for about 6 months now. The poor signal is becoming in tolerable at home, it will go through the cycle of 4G 2 bar, 1 bar, 3G, 1X, no signal. We also own samsung S5 and iphone 6 and both have very stable 4G (2-3 bars) signal right next to the note4!
To be exact, when my note 4 has a signal strength of 118 dbm, the other phones have 110 dbm or better, even with the SAME cell station (based on app "network info").
I called the Verizon technical support. They were very nice and sent me a new sim card. But that did not solve the problem.
I then reset the phone, and reverted it back to kitkat 4.4, and that did not help. So it was not lollipop upgrade.
I am now back to lollipop via OTA and the signal is as weak as before.
I don't think I have a bad phone because it is superb at work where I have full xLTE signal (4-5 bars).
In conclusion, note 4 either has a weaker antenna or it needs a software fix.

Thanks, JuanD_VZW, but saying "let's get this fixed" doesn't seem to be
fixing anything. This problem has been going on for several months now.
It began with the initial Lollipop update. Now the reception on all of our
Note 4 phones is terrible. As evidenced by all of the internet chatter on
this topic, no amount of factory resets, replacement sim cards, or settings
adjustments has fixed this problem. Please either send an update to fix
this, or give us free Note 5 phone upgrades for this pervasive
inconvenience.

Crzymscn1, I know that I would be extremely frustrated with signal issues as well. As the mother of 3, with one in the hospital, I know that each and every call is crucial. Please work with us so that we may get to the bottom of this. What is the zip code? Are you having issues with calls, messages, or data? Do you get any specific error codes? With some details we can dig in.

Thanks, LorenB_VZWSupport. All of the above. Poor signal, unable to make
or receive calls, unable to send and receive text messages, slow or no
data. I have fairly consistent service in my house, although not as many
bars as my wife's phone (i only have around 2 bars). At work I have 0-1
bars, constantly switching back and forth between 3g and 4g (if it
connects). If I try to make a call, even if I have 1 bar, it will sometime
say that the network is not available or that I am out of the service
area. My work zip is 63110. My home is 63123. When I go into
storesgrocery stores, retail shops, etc.I have absolutely no
service--no bars, no data. It makes it difficult to call home and ask if
we need anything. My biggest concern is that my wife is 9 months
pregnant... I'd hate to miss that call! The frustrating thing is that the
Note 4 worked wonderfully for a good 8 months. Then the Lollipop update
hit. It seems pretty clear to me what the problem is; Samsung and Verizon
broke our phones with the update. Any resolution to this problem would be
much appreciated.

Crzymscn1, thank you for all of the great details. As i am the mother of 3, I bet that you are both sitting on the edge of the seat waiting for your new arrival. Congratulations to you both and I wish you the very best with your new bundle of joy.
As the reset and sim card do not seem to be doing the trick, there are a couple of settings within the phone, that I would like to have you check. When going to the Apps, settings, More Networks, is the Data Roaming set to allow? Also, under the Mobile Networks, is the LTE/CDMA selected?
I have also done some digging with Samsing directly. Their suggestion is to actually run their Samsung Kies software through thr phone to fix any errors that the update may have caused. This can be done by visiting http://www.samsung.com/us/support/help/142031279233975.

Just to be clear, I have not tried getting a new sim card, although I have
tried everything else suggested on these forums. I figured, if it didn't
work for anyone else, it wouldn't be worth my time or effort to try. As
for settings, I switched to LTE/CDMA a few days ago after I figured out
that I needed to have the phone set on this in order to enable Advanced
Calling. I was hoping that enabling this feature would help, but I have
not yet seen a change.

I guess I'll throw mine in with the rest. Had a note 2. Worked great. Note 4 is an awesome phone. But reception is horrible. I had to use my wife's phone today to google something because I had little to no bars on my note 4. She has a motorola. This is an issue for note 4's. However I would like to know. Does the note 5 have the same issues? If not can I get a discount on that phone? Also, this should be a warranty issue and has grounds for legal action. Just saying. Hopefully verizon puts out a recall or something.

Have an old Droid Razer Maxx and it is tough as nails. Late last year I bought a Note 4 because I thought it would be a productive tool. Brought it home and no signal....droid razer 2-3 bars and my wifes iPhone 2-3 bars...fought with that for a day or so and kicked it back. Cant fight with a phone you have paid hundreds for. Well the note 5 came out and I just received that today. All excited because it is brand new and supposed to be a much better device.....I'm sitting here writing this up just to say that phone reception is just has horrible on the Note 5.... Guess what Verizon...I'm sending back another Note series phone and I'm gonna reactivate my trusty old Droid Razer Maxx. You would think a phone this size would have better reception but I get absolutely no coverage. A bit of info though I am on a roaming Canada tower at home that this phone should have no issues with expecially on Global mode like my other phones....junk

I Live in zip code 89031 and I'm having issue in my house, at work, I was on. Action just recently and I chalked up my signal issues to where I was until I got home and have been experiencing the same problem. Another verizon rep answered another post I made and asked me to turn on the advanced calling setting to see if that would help but as of right now it still looks to be very unstable

Lurch702 You need resolution to your signal woes. Is the issue still going on? Is anyone else affected? What phone do you have?

This is a complete joke. Verizon lied out their ass with the Note 3 literally stating they knew nothing of what was going on. I went over 6 months of not getting calls. The reception on the Note 4 is also going away exactly like what happened on the Note 4. I have no contract and will be moving to AT&T. Verizon shows over and over they do not care, nothing but canned bullshit. I couldn't imagine working for them.
There is no excuse not to have the 5.1.1 update available. You promised the update on the Note 3 and knew the phone wasn't working and did nothing about it. You have proven many times you do not care about your clients, only your bottom line. That too will go away to others that show they care.

I have been with Verizon for over a decade. I guess I thought I could get better support for my phone. It would seem Verizon has only a few options in my opinion. 1. Push the 5.1.1 update which we hope fixes the issue. 2. Give me a discount on the new note 5. 3. Allow users to revert there software versions to 4.4.4. Which tons of people say will help with not just signal but increased batteryife. I've been trying to downgrade mine for 2 days now. I'll let everyone know if it works.
