does anyone ever want to smash their fascinate into tiny pieces because everyone else has updates, thus making our fascinates less fascinating? or am i just loco?

no, why on earth would you consider doing such a thing? they work fine with eclair, and froyo is availalable freely for this phone.

yes this is true, however for someone who is not completely technologically savy, i risk turing my phone into a pretty paperweight. id rather wait for the ota update but am suffering in doing so. hence the anger

ha, well if you're going to bust it into little pieces then a brick would be about as useful. And a brick can generally be recovered. :smileywink:

Even though a bricked phone can be used as a paperweight it is not as fun as a smashed phone. A smashed phone on another hand can be used as a zigzag puzzle giving you hours of enjoyment trying to put it back in whenever upgrade will ever be released.

and it's virtually impossible to brick a fascinate if you follow the instructions.

If you are really that upset, FIX IT! It's almost impossible to brick a android, take 30 min and read up on how to (edit) your phone, download what you want (links will be on the page your reading) and POW, no more problem. You don't have to be a tech nut to do it. The compleat EB01 with all the VZW blot included and works flawlessly is readily available to those who really want it and are just that unhappy with 2.1. As was said before, either put up or fix it yourself. Either way, we don't need another thread with nothing but threats and complaints over not having froyo and I was lied to. When someone doesn't do what they tell me they are going to do, I take care of it on my own. I couldn't be happier with my Fascinate now!
