I am constantly losing service and getting dropped calls on this phone.  I can be in a room with many other people who have 4g service thru verizon and they are getting full service, and I have none.

Do u think my phone is defective or there service is defective?

thanks

The signal issues on some Galaxy Nexus' are very well known.

Yes, sad but true!  There are many of us who have this issue.  If you check your signal strength (not in the bars) but in the settings in the dbm form, I bet you find you have poor signal strength.  This causes dropped calls, very poor call quality, especially if a call lasts over five minutes.  I liken talking on this phone to using a cheap walkie talkie.  About that good.  Oh and the poor signal strength also drains the battery.  Wifi connections are also an issue.  I can get my wifi anywhere in my house on a laptop but this phone can barely hold a signal from a distance of about 15ft.  Even at about 8 ft. it will drop the wifi signal.  I haven been through four CLNRs and each one had some serious defect in addition to the poor signal strength.  Verizon has offered me a Razor as a replacement.  A CLNR Razor.  Geez, not even the Razor Maxx.  I really don't know what to do.  I got the phone in December and had been on the phone with Verizon and Samsung about every other week since then.  I was promised that the 4.0.4 update back in June would fix all my issues.  It didn't, it made them worse.  Now I hear others are getting the S3 but I hear signal strength is an issue on that phone also.??

My GN's signal is currently -100  1asu at my house.....I GUESS I'll have to get that thing that costs over $200 to boost my signal...then there are probably monthly fees to use it......or......I could build my own signal booster as described here LOL

BTW, where is that guy "Can you hear me now?" w/ all those people following him?  Haven't seen that ad for ages :O)

Don't bother with the signal booster. It's a hardware issue with these phones. I'm always optimistic when a new build comes out but it never fixes the signal. >Post edited to comply with ZW Community ToS< nothing changes the fact that I will have 3 bars of 4G and then no signal "empty triangle" for about 45 sec to a minute and then back to 3 bars. Still love the phone though.

I just bought a nexus fully aware of the signal problems but was assured by best buy that it is a sim card issue and they would repeatedly replace the sim card until it worked. I am running 4.0.4 the phone was updated before I bought it or came with the update as it was in an unopened box brand new. I have not had any issues other than I cant seem to get more than 2 bars of service in places where my old phone had full signal. so for those of you waiting for an update it may fix some issues but as far as I am concerned it does not fix the signal problem.  I bought 3 of these phones and all three have not gone over 2 bars in multiple locations.  no other issues though, phone is very fast and easy to operate and battery is what to be expected on this type of phone as far as I am concerned.
