after spending way too much time reading on a variety of forums about this lollipop S5 problem, it appears there really is no solution. The lag is crazy, the battery life sucks, it overheats, etc etc Possible solutions: clear your cache - done it twice, no help factory reset - did it, no help So we are at the mercy of Verizon? Samsung? who to get an update for any of these problems? the whole situation is very close to driving me back to iPhone, which I left because I felt android was a better operating system, but at this point, my android phone is minimally useful. My iPhone basically always worked. Any word on a time frame for an update, a solution, anything?????

It's certainly alarming to hear that you're having so many issues since this update. We want to make sure we get your phone back into tip top shape and working great. After you did the factory reset, did you restore your apps from the Play Store? Have you tried the phone in safe mode http://vz.to/1Ea5XxF for a time to see if that helps at all?

I updated my Galaxy S4 a couple of months ago with lollipop. It was a disaster. Verizon's answer was to replace my S4 with another because it couldn't be fixed (rep's recommendation, not mine). Now I have my brand spankin new phone and it keeps asking if I want to update with lollipop. I'M AFRAID! Has its problems been fixed or will I have issues with this now?

Whatever you do, DON'T dare run that upgrade because you'll just find yourself in the same boat as before.
Keep hitting [Install Later] followed by ignoring the auto-upgrade notice. LOLLIFLOP 5.0 has turned out to be nothing short of a disaster. Wait for 5.1, then read the reviews of those who did do the upgrade on your model.
What kills me is how blase the Verizon Reps have been publicly about this when they all know darn well this update has been one of the worst things to happen to Samsung phones, ever. Most of the time they'll finally admit it when you confront them head on. One can only assume they've been briefed to downplay this as much as possible. Believe me, VZW is very aware of this.
I'm not going to go into detail of what I went through with my S5 until I got it replaced (with one that had KitKat on it, YAY!), but be rest assured what you've been reading here in these forums about Lolliflop are all true. Personally, I suspect this was done deliberately so we'd all run right out and buy S6's, NOT!!

My LG g3 is useless since the update. I have tried everything mentioned to no avail. Before the update, I had good service outside my home. I am sick of paying $300 per month for piece of $hit service. My contract expires in October and if it has not been fixed, I will be changing carriers!

Hello dsjacr. We definitely value you as a customer and your happiness is a priority at Verizon. We never want to see you go and want our relationship to last many years. Let's work on this together. You mentioned that you have tried many things to remedy your issue after the update. What steps have you taken thus far? Did they include a master reset on the device?

Please remove me from this list. This is not my account--you're sending
dozens of emails to me about this phone account and it's not my account.
Someone is using my email address.

The update is horrible, whoever QA'd it should be fired. I've tried all of the suggestions to no avail. This is the first Android I haven't rooted because it did everything so well.

Have you checked for the new Lollipop 5 update for S5?
I'm wondering if you can get it, article seems to infer that it may not yet be available to existing Lollipop users.

Like everyone, I had terrible problems with Lollipop, version G900WRU1B0A8 but upon hearing about the new update today, I searched for it. I downloaded it today, the new version G900WRU1B0C4. I figure it can't be much worse, but I'll update when I've had it a day or two.

Glad to hear the update is available to you, the one article mentioned they couldn't get it for an already Lollipopped device.
Please do keep everyone informed.

The article is wrong. It is definitely an update to Android 5.0. So far devices seem better. Just "Check for system updates" from within Settings to force it if it is not offered automatically.

I updated to Lollipop a little over a month ago and have had nothing but problems since. I have restarted, deleted cache, deleted a lot of apps and nothing seems to work. The lag is a huge issue and my phone will completely restart and shut down on its own. Just trying to navigate my phone is an absolute challenge. I can't imagine how this update got pushed out with this many issues. I'm not sure if this is an Android issue, Samsung, or Verizon but it's terrible and has me waiting for a fix or looking into leaving altogether (that's leaving Android, Samsung and Verizon).
I have researched this issue and it appears many people are having the same issues so I am hoping someone can give me an idea of when I can expect an update or what my options are at this point.

Compare your version to those in the sammobile link and see, it seems like Verizon is pushing the update just not sure if it is going to existing lollipop users yet.

I just received the latest update as the first one was so awesome. I'm now on G900WRU1B0C4. My phone is been on for 2 hours. I checked the weather and performed no other actions. It's been 2 hours and my battery is already down to 78%. Awesome.

Give it a few days to adjust to the new OS and report back how it is working, we are all interested in how the latest update is.

3 to 4 days of normal use should work. Most reports I have received needed 3 days and some 5.

I'm sorry to say but some S5's never make it out of ICU/CCU after a bad case of 5.0. I would recommend you do a factory data reset, this does work in some devices.

GalaxyClass, I did the factory reset, things seem to be back to normal, but I guess time till tell. I'll do further test this afternoon to ensure S5 operability.
