Unable to update Verizon messenger and unable to use current version. When I go to Google Play and click on update it says something went wrong, try again. When I click on the Try Again button same thing happens no matter how many times I click it. Verizon messenger has a popup that says I am using an old version of the app. In order to continue using the app, I need to update it. When I click on the Update Now button on that notice it goes to Google Play, and I get the same message with same results.

try clearing the data for the Google Play Store app. This action will reset the app to its default settings. Go to your device's Settings > Apps > Google Play Store, tap on "Storage," and select "Clear Data." Note that this will remove your Play Store preferences, so you may need to log in again.
