I recently setup usage controls on my daughter's phone (iPhone 4) and I'm having a few issues, but they don't seem to be something I can easily reproduce.
She gets calls from different numbers, adults even, that no one knows. I'm assuming that this is because her number was recycled. At any rate, I wanted to restrict her phone such that she can only talk/text with those on the trusted contacts list through usage controls.
I set up time restrictions (12:00am - 12:00am) to accomplish this, but I wasn't sure how their system would view this. I want it to block everything, 24/7, but I wasn't sure if this would be viewed. Would it be start time restriction and immediately stop it, or, start time restriction and stop at next 12:00am, then immediately start?
The reason I ask is because it seems to work, but then other times people on her trusted contacts list can't call or text her. Also, she got a text from someone not on her trusted contacts after I set it up, in the middle of the day (several days later). Just the one though.
Finally, I would like to know how the time restrictions work specifically. I can set these to maybe 12:00am to 11:59pm, there's a minute there unprotected, but I'm not sure if that will matter. If she receives texts while under a time restriction, are they refused or queued? In other words, if she received a bunch of texts through the day from numbers NOT on her trusted contacts list, at 11:59pm is she going to get a flood of texts?
Thank you all for reading, I would appreciate any advice!
