2FA Questions

Trying to set up 2 FAuthentication. Prior to even turning it on, it was asking me to validate using the MyVerizon app which I have on my device. That is not always convenient. It says for 2FA it will send a message to the phone number or an email. So, I went ahead and enabled it on my own line. It does not send text messages, it sends the approval notification only to the App???

I opened a chat and they said yup that's the way it works, and if the app isn't installed it sends an email.

Yeah, ok. Is this actually true? That if you have the app installed, it only sends a notification to the app on the phone? Please advise.

For account verification, customers may receive a Push Notification or Tokenized SMS. With the Tokenized SMS, a customer must have a smartphone device without the My Verizon app installed or have the My Verizon app installed with the notifications disabled to be eligible to receive a Tokenized SMS. Let us know if you have any questions about this.
