Asurion Coverage

I just learned that Asurion wants to charge me double the value of my phone as a deductible to replace a screen. I was told that with the coverage, a screen replacement would only be $29. This turned out to be a lie. Asurion told me to either pay the $300, or kick rocks. For reference, a local phone repair shop quoted me $275 to replace the screen. I have been paying for the Asurion coverage to roughly 18 months, and they are demanding a ridiculous amount of money before processing my very first claim. Needless to say, I cancelled the coverage for all of my lines.
Asurion is a rip-off. I will never purchase this coverage again, and neither should you. Shame on Verizon for talking me into it.

Accidents can happen, and although they are inconvenient, it's always a good thing to have insurance on your device. It's our priority that you are provided with precise information regarding Asurion's deductibles and services available especially because you decided to remove the service. I finally got to the bottom of it with the help of a Verizon agent conferenced in on the call. Asurion DOES NOT cover folding screen phones. I was specifically told at the point of sale that they would replace the screen if it breaks for $29 per incident. According to Asurion, they ONLY replace phones with folding screens. The Verizon agent said that this was all new information to her, and she has never heard of this before.
So basically, I can pay $300 for a new Z Flip 3, or buy out my current phone for $160, then get something newer and better. If I had known this when I initially purchased the phone, I would not have added the Asurion coverage.
TLDR: Asurion doesn't cover folding phones, but apparently they didn't tell Verizon yet.
