Backup Messages Plus to SD card on S7

How do I backup messages plus messages to micro SD card on s7?  I would like to transfer the messages to my new s9 and use the messages plus app.  I've tried Samsung Smart Switch, verizon content transfer, and SMS back up and restore to transfer all 60k messages to my new phone and nothing seems to work.

Have you installed the Messages+ to the new device? Are the messages backed up to your Verizon Cloud?
