Can't connect to Verizon Integrated Messaging Service

This morning, I got a message from VZ Messages with a PIN. Since then, I have received a number of "We were unable to connect your device to synchronize with Verizon Integrated Messaging Service." errors, and I am unable to send/receive texts. The phone connects to the internet normally.

Does this mean that someone else is now reading my texts? I've never set up Message+ anywhere but on my phone, and I don't know any way to see if the online feature is activated or not.

I've reset the app without success. ANy ideas? Any way to know if I've been compromised?

Thanks,

Scott.

Same problem on two Verizon phones after automatic update of Verizon's integrated messinging app.  One phone kept giving me the following error.

"We were unable to connect your device to synchronize with Verizon Integrated Messaging service. You can attempt to reconnect your device to Verizon Integrated Messaging through the Settings menu of the application.  "

The other phone kept crashing the messaging app when I tried opening it.

This worked for me.... Go into apps.  Find messager+ or text messaging app.  Uninstall updates to the app to go back to the factory version of the app.  Once updates are uninstalled, open your messenger app and go through the initial set-up.  Then update the messenger app through the play store.

If you've got the app on your phone, open it, and tap the three bars on the top left.  Scroll down to Settings (gear icon).  Then scroll nearly to the bottom to Manage Devices ... that will show you the primary device (your phone number), and any other devices that are connected (tablets, laptops, etc).

You can also disconnect any devices that you don't want linked to the phone app.

Manage devices is not an option

Hmmm, maybe that's because you do not HAVE any other connected devices?  In order to set up a computer or tablet, you would need the code that was texted to your phone to complete the set up, so perhaps no other devices were set up?  Since you have no other devices to manage (and you said you have not set it up anywhere but on your phone) that may be why you don't see "Manage Devices".

I do have the messaging app on my tablet and laptop, therefore I can see the "Manage Devices" option.  I'm just guessing - perhaps someone else with no other devices connected can confirm that the option is gone in that situation.

Are you still unable to send and receive messages?  Perhaps the update changed something...try clearing the cache from your app drawer.  You can also try removing (uninstalling) the app and then reinstalling it to see if that gets things working again.

Tgis was all working until today.  Multiple messages with a pin#, multiple

messages  unable to synch.  Not just my phone, daughter's

as well.  I'm thinking a bad update. Had to switch to samsung stock message

to stop all the [Removed] texts

profanity removed as required by the Verizon Wireless Terms of Service

How can I delete the cache from my app drawer? I do not see that option on the menu.

Settings --> Applications --> Scroll to Messages app, tap it and you should see cache size and a button to clear it.

Running Message+ 6.4.9    There is no Manage Device option under settings

Same problem here.  I've had dozens of texts from Verizon about this today.  Manage devices is definitely not listed as an option.  I have not tried to access messages from any other device.  I have made absolutely no changes to any phone apps and uninstall is not an option.  The phone just keeps getting these messages every 3 - 5 minutes and it passed the annoying point after the first five messages.  I'm also getting messages about a pin number.  It's very annoying and I'd love to find a way to make it stop.  And yes, I've also tried rebooting the phone.

My daughter was having the same problem, but it seems to have been resolved by an update that Verizon pushed tonight (got to her phone around 11:30 Eastern). Spare a thought for the poor programmer who has to start working on his resume tomorrow...

I started getting these last night around 10pm. 30 or 40 of them before I went to bed. Woke up in the middle of the night and my phone was burning up! I unplugged it and made sure it would sit untouched to cool off. When my alarm went off, it was cooled off but I had 890 text messages from Verizon saying this messaged over and over again. I did a force stop on the app and that seemed to stop it from sending the text every 2 minutes but it didn't fix it. I have gotten about 50 throughout the day so far. Gonna call Verizon later today to find out if they can help.

Thank you! It's been driving me nuts for the past 24 hours. Glad I found your suggestion, seems like it is going to work.

Thank you!  Thank you!  This worked perfectly for me.  Actually did not have to update thru playstore just reset to factory and then opened great.
