I would like to download all of my Verizon Cloud to one of my personal drives. This is over 100,000 photos and videos that I have taken over the years and do not currently have a backup of anywhere. ( I know that wasn't smart of me, but here we are)
The cloud says this is as ~415GB of storage which I find reasonable. I know I have enough storage space for all of it, that is no issue.
The main issue is that there is simply no button to just download all of it at once or any hidden setting I am aware of. When I try to let it all load to have it all selected to download I am kicked from the session as it was too long (which I find annoying, to say the least....).
That means I can make no progress in what has been selected so far for download and I am not going to sit around for several hours meticulously downloading things in groups of a thousand and then deleting them to reach the next batch to download.
I have also downloaded the Verizon cloud desktop app, but that only allows for one item at a time to be downloaded which is even worse time-wise.
I have also read other forum posts about this and struggle to find anything that would be worthwhile.
If there is some way for this to be fixed by either getting rid of session time limits or adding in a faster loading time to select everything that would be thrilling. I understand the issue of possibly having things load faster, but then again google photos is significantly faster and allows me to just scroll to any point in the timeline I want whereas here I am stuck at the top waiting for it to load the next photo in the past.

Hello cpruss805,
Downloading Content
To download content from the Cloud storage to the device you may use the following: Menu Selection or Long Press.
Menu Selection
- In the Photos & Videos section of the app tap on the contextual menu (3-dot menu) in the upper right and tap ‘Select Content’.
- Tap on the items you want to download
- Tap on the download icon at the bottom of the app screen
Long Press
- Put your finger on an image you want to download and hold it there until you see a check mark appear on the image and the image goes slightly dark.
- This activates ‘Selection Mode’, and you may either drag your finger over additional images you want to download to tap on separate additional images to be selected.
- Once selected, tap on the download icon at the bottom of the app screen to delete.
Downloading with Desktop App
Desktop User Logs on Windows - C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\VerizonCloud-Data\Logs
Desktop User Logs on a MAC - /Users/<username>/.local/share/VerizonCloud-Data/Logs
Using the Desktop Client to mass-save Cloud content to local desktop machine:
- Install and sign-in to your Cloud subscription. Not optional on Contacts Only service level
- Once installed, a new folder "VZCLOUD" will be created on your desktop machine.
- The sub-folders in VZCLOUD will slowly populate thumbnails of your Cloud's media. The rendering of these images is referred to as "Hydration".
- Once the images hydrate, then may be MENU COPIED - not moved or dragged/dropped - to a new folder location on the local storage. Moving these files will end up deleting Cloud content.
- The act of making the copy will initiate a background download of the full file for each thumbnail copied to the new folder.
NOTE: Leave your desktop machine on and connected to the internet. Depending on the size of media to be saved, you may need to turn off SLEEP for the computer until done.
NOTE: ISP connection, download size, and computer's processing power will determine the time required to complete.

Hey, SharpEagleEye, I know just how important it is to have multiple backup copies of your data this day and age. Verizon Cloud is a great tool, and I too have had to do just the thing you're trying to do with downloading all of those videos and pictures to your computer. Currently, there is not an option to download multiple files at a time using the Desktop Application. Learn more here: https://www.verizon.com/support/knowledge-base-303183/

Thanks for the response, but I was already aware of that if you read from the 7th line from the bottom.
Do you know if there are any future development plans to include the ability to download multiple files at once using the desktop application?
Would it be possible if I could have a more direct way to download everything at once kinda like the feature that Google has where you can download all data that it has as seen in the image below

At this time, we are not aware of any future updates to include the ability to download multiple files at once, SharpEagleEye. Currently, the best option to download files are outlined in the article linked in our previous post.

I am currently experiencing the same issue as SharpEagleEye which is only fueling my desire to leave Verizon after 22 years of continuous service. Why is Verizon holding my cloud content hostage?

I am having a similar issue. I want to backup the Verizon cloud content to my laptop. I installed the Verizon cloud app on laptop, logged in and selected files, but a download button is nowhere to be found.
I am also trying to download almost 200 gb of data, so I would like the option of downloading it all at once instead of having to do it file by file or even date by date, but the download button isn't appearing anywhere that I can find. It's perplexing. Can anyone help?

So you're saying I need to download one file at a time? Thats unreasonable as there are thousands of files. When will a feature be available for a download all function?

I pay $40 a month for cloud access on 2 lines, and the web is non responsiive, the app is terrible and downloading 1 file at a time is unacceptable. Certainly there is a better way?!?!?!

YOU ARE ALL FOOLING YOURSELVES, VERIZON IS NOT FOOLISH ENOUGH TO ALLOW MASS DOWNLOADS. THIS IS THE WAY THEY CAN FORCE YOU INTO STAYING A CUSTOMER UNTIL YOU DECIDE TO GIVE UP DOWNLOADING 30,000 OR MORE PHOTOS AND DOCUMENTS BY PULLING THE PLUG AND DISCONNECTING YOUR SERVICES FOR GOOD. YOU ARE A DATA JUNKY NOW AND WILL PAY FOR YOUR TRUSTING AND STORING YOUR VALUABLE DATA WITH YOUR NOW LIFE LONG PARTNER. MARRAGE CAN BE STRESSFUL,YOU WILL HAVE TO MAKE A DICISSION WHETHER OR NOT YOU WANT A DIVORCE FROM YOUR SMARTER PARTNER OR YOU ARE WILLING TO LIVE IN PARADISE BY THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS AND WILL JUST HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT TILL THE END OF TIME.

OH, I DON'T BELIEVE THIS POST WILL LAST VERY LONG. I'M A LOYAL VERIZON ENTERPRISE / BUSINESS CLASS CLIENT AND HAVE BEEN WITH VERIZON SINCE BEFORE NINEX AND THEY HANDS DOWN HAVE THE BEST SERVICE IN THE USA. I HAD THEM ALL, AT&T, SPRINT, MCI, NEXTEL AND MANY MORE ALL THE WHILE I WAS A VERIZON CUSTOMER AND THERE IS NO OTHER SERVICE THAT CAN COMPARE TO NATIONWIDE AND INTERNATIONAL COVERAGE. VERIZON HAS THE BEST OF THE BEST WHEN YOU ARE TRULY MOBILE ACROSS LARGE AREAS, BUT; YOU WILL JUST HAVE TO PAY FOR GREAT COVERAGE AND CAREFULLY WATCH THE BILLING ISSUES. IT IS A LOVE HATE RELATIONSHIP YOU ARE IN, BUT THE OTHER LOVERS OUT THERE ARE FAR WORSE.
