For further clarity there are 2 VZW numbers that receive the alerts and 1 ATT Wireless. Both VZW fail but ATT number is always successful.

Have no clue whats goin on with Verizon, but it is annoying. Hetting the same result using Verizon, AT&T fine. Everything was fine a week ago. Texting from email is essential.

We have Gmail rules set up to auto forward specific emails to [email address removed per the Verizon Terms of Service] which usually forwards the email as a text message (SMS) to my phone. My phone then alerts me that I have a text message and I know to check my email. Over the last week or two we've seen delays (today has been especially bad --- 1 or 2 hours of delay) and we continue to periodically receive the following failure message (Xs represent the digits of my phone number):
Delivery incomplete
There was a temporary problem delivering your message to [email address removed per the Verizon Terms of Service]. Gmail will retry for 46 more hours. You'll be notified if the delivery fails permanently.

Yes the problem is still occurring. I created a brand new email account at outlook(dot)com. Email to texts came through fine for about the first couple of days after the account was created. Now, they are delayed 20 minutes up to 24 hours. I have the same alert messages sent to my personal email and those emails come through immediately once an alert is sent.
This same problem is also occurring for a different Verizon Wireless customer as well. Something has definitely changed on Verizon's end within the last 60-ish days.

Am having the same problem here.
Nothing they can troubleshoot on our end its a vz server problem. When will it be fixed?
We get text from our alarms and cameras.
The verizon server is the problem. This needs to be escalated its affecting everyone

Thank you for the details, and we definitely want this to get resolved as quickly as possible. Can you confirm what web browser you are using when attempting to send the messages? Can you please attempt to send the messages from a different browser?

@vzw_customer_support
I am not using a web browser. I am using a 3rd party locally installed software platform that automatically sends the alerts to an Outlook(dot)com email account via SMTP.
As previously noted, I have been using this same weather alert software for over 12 years generating the same alerts that entire time as they are sent by the National Weather Service. It has only been within the prior 60 days that delays on Verizon's end have begun. Again, this is not just my phone number that is impacted. A completely different Verizon Wireless account holder is also experiencing the same delays beginning within the same timeframe I have noted. I have the exact same alerts sent to my personal email account that are received immediately and without delay.
As an aside, I have had DoorDash delivery texts also be delayed on the order of hours after they are sent. So, this is not isolated to the aforementioned weather alerts.

These details are helpful. Have you made any recent changes to your phone? May I ask if you have reset the network settings on your device?

Thanks for the details, WhyForYouCall! We want to make sure you receive all of your alerts! Are your Verizon numbers receiving other specialized messages, like short code messages from banks, apps, services, etc.?

@vzw_customer_supportYes, whenever they are sent, which is infrequent. With respect to the reported problem I have no way to know when those other messages are received vs when they were sent.

Apollo, there are MANY Verizon users that DO NOT use Facebook or Twitter social media for support. You are HERE so please post support info here to the Verizon Community.

To Verizon Rep.
I have 2 verizon #'s and have using verizon for years. Its the most reliable.
However i have troubleshooted this issue and its not on my end. It seems the EMAIL TO TEXT function is specifically blocked by verizon as far as i can see.
Email to text works to Tmobile and ATT carriers. However its blocked from GMAIL.
If i use a Aol email, .ORG email it works fine. However the GMAIL emails are specifically blocked and I receive the serve error thats posted below.
Hopefully this makes it more clear to others , if they try to use another email it will likely work except GMAIL.
Unfortunately the application I am using restrict me to GMAIL addresses. So i feel i have to press on to resolve it.
Perhaps this helps the VERIZON CUST SERVICE , the GMAIL emails to text seem to be blocked.
Please help.,

I too am having the following error when sending text messages from my gmail account to my verizon phone:
421 4.2.0 209.85.217.48 server temporarily unavailable
This worked up until a few weeks ago then suddenly stopped.
