For those that still have the grandfathered 250-text plan on their Nationwide calling plan, please be aware that Verizon made a system change sometime early to mid February this year. Before the system change, if you increased/decreased the minutes portion of your calling plan, your grandfathered 250-text plan carried over with your minutes change. With the system change, the 250-text plan no longer carries over with any changes in minutes and you will have to choose to switch to a new plan; the only plans available are either pay-as-you-go ($0.20/SMS and $0.25/MMS) or 1000 texts/month for $10.

Update: while the above still holds true if you make changes to the minutes portion of your calling plan on-line (i.e., doing it yourself via your on-line My Verizon account), it is still possible to call Customer Service and have them make the changes and retain the 250-text plan.
