Trying to track down a certain text from a certain number and I clear my history. Is there a way Verizon can give me access?

Unless you're using Verizon Messages or backing up your texts (via an app or cloud), once the texts are deleted from the phone, they're gone. VzW usually only has the last maybe 10 days' worth and to obtain copies requires a court order. You can access your text logs for the past 90 days via your on-line My Verizon account.
