Message+ keeps muting a conversation

I have the Galaxy S8+ and I absolutely love using Message+ for all my texting... I've used it since I had the S6. But I've encountered a problem that I don't know how to solve, and Google search hasn't been very helpful. I muted a single conversation months ago, because my brother-in-law likes to spam my phone sometimes to be funny and annoying. I unmuted the conversation the next day and this is where my issue appears.
Randomly over the months, Message+ will remute the conversation and I have missed important messages because of it. I have to keep undoing the mute, and it's become a habit to check every day and night to see if that infamous mute symbol is next to the conversation. I've tried deleting the entire conversation off my phone, tablet, and web. I've tried updating. I've tried switching to the default messaging program and then back to Message+. But, even with a brand new conversation with my brother-in-law, it will randomly become muted.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem and how can I fix it? I'm becoming quite annoyed that nothing seems to be working.

same issue on my Note8 and Htc 9. I have only muted 1 person in my lifetime. I turn off the mute function on my current cell phone and within a day or so, the conversations shows muted again.
I am wondering if I muted the contact on another phone that it is syncing to "mute" even if I unmute from another phone. Otherwise, I have no idea why it randomly mutes

Text messaging is how we all communicate, so we want to be sure your texts are working correctly for you. What we want to try next is resetting the Message+ app. Here is a link that will help: http://vz.to/2hgRAXy

I followed the troubleshooting directions to reset the app. I'll follow up in about a week to see if that made a difference, since the auto-mute wasn't always on a consistent time frame. Thank you so much, and I hope this works!

Thanks for working with us, let's keep moving towards a long-lasting solution. Is the Message+ application up to date? We can check this by going to the Play Store, then tapping the menu icon, tap "My apps and games", then tap on the Message+ application.

My app is completely up to date (I have it on auto-update on WIFI), but even after double checking, it's still current. I've also tried deleting the conversation on my phone/tablet/laptop and starting a new conversation. I just recently followed directions to troubleshoot the app. Nothing seems to be working.

Here are the troubleshooting steps that I've tried (minus repetition of steps):
1. Unmuted the conversation on my phone.
2. Unmuted the conversation on my phone/tablet/laptop.
3. Deleted the entire conversation off my phone/tablet/laptop.
4. Checked to see if the app was up to date. (The version is current).
5. Unmuted the conversation on my phone/tablet/laptop and resync'd my phone with Verizon Cloud.
6. I followed this troubleshooting guide: http://vz.to/2hgRAXy
7. Checked to see if the app was up to date. (The version is current).
The next step seems to try to factory reset my phone to see if that helps, but as SUECONNICK stated -- factory reset didn't do anything. On the side note, I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one experiencing issues. I really thought it was just user error at first, and I was missing a step. I really appreciate everyone helping us and trying to figure it out.

I am also having this issue, but mine seems to happen only on Monday mornings, every week, for the past month or so. I was testing the mute feature with my husband. I muted him, then unmuted him several minutes later. Ever since then, Monday mornings when I turn on my phone, my conversation with him is muted. I didn't even test it on a Monday morning!

Having a phone conversation mute on you is never fun. I'd be sad if I felt left out of an important conversation. Let's figure out why this is happening.
Have you checked the play store for an update? http://bit.ly/2oQAxu0. If the app is up to date and you're still having this issue, let's attempt to reset the app. this will not erase any content. Since I do not know your specific phone model please note that the steps can vary slightly and if you're having any issues let us know: http://vz.to/2p0DtVl.

I am having the same issue with my galaxy s10+. I've done all of the updates in play store, forcestop and clear, reset settings to default factory, deleted the contact from my phone and iPad, texted with just the phone # & still muted it, re-added the contact with a variation in the name, etc. , and I cannot find anything that works.

Text messaging is how we all communicate, so we want to be sure your texts are working correctly for you. How long have you had this issue? Does this only occur with your Message + application? Have you tried resetting the Message+ app. Here is a link that will help: http://vz.to/2hgRAXy. What are you results after completing this step?

PsyDNChef72, assistance is here as dealing with this issue for an entire year is too long. Let's get this fixed. The MUTED person sending the message has a setting they need to change on their phone to prevent the muting on the reciever's end. On the senders phone go to Settings, Google, Device Phone Number, Control how others connect with you.
There are three settings there:
- Use my phone number
- Use my phone number, but ask first if charges apply
- Don't use my phone number.
The sender must select the first option.
Please keep us posted on your progress as assistance is here.
