Message notifications : Sent / delivered

When I send messages on Verizon  messages I have seen two different notifications. One says Delivered and one just says Sent.  What's  the difference?

Is there a detailed "user guide" on using Verizon  Messages?

I understand your concerns djschwar! Only messages to other Verizon Wireless users can be confirmed to be delivered and you will get the delivered notification when confirmed.
