We understand how important it is to be able to see your messages. Have you uninstalled and reinstalled the application?

Seriously? This is a Verizon app. It can only be disabled. I have "force
stopped" but that made no changes.
I apologize for my sarcasm but shouldn't you know this?
Please help.

We want to help you resolve this. We apologize for any confusion. What kind of phone do you have? Did you try clearing the cache of the application? Are you having the same issue with your device's messaging application?

You mean to tell me I only get answers if I follow you on Twitter? I went
to the trouble of downloading it and don't know how to find the information.
Great business practice.
Nevermind.

No, you don't have to follow VZW on Twitter to get answers. That is just their standard boilerplate signature for the forum reps.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Davidschafer01, We definitely want your Message plus application to work properly. Lets keep working at this. Although we mentioned this earlier. Can you tell us what happens after you clear the cache? https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-205182/

Davidschafer01, we apologize for any confusion. No need to follow us to see your answers. This is simply a standard closing that we use. As to the Messages + have you had the opportunity to clear the cache and data? Which phone are you using? We'd like to get to the bottom of this.

I'm using the Moto z. I'd rather not set up a Twitter account.

That's understandable and thanks for clarifying, let's get this figured out. Are you referring to new message notifications? If not, please clarify "Message + will not indicate how many messages or whether I have messages". Are all of your messages deleted? Where did you previously see the indicator?

I see, thanks for the details. When did this start happening Davidschafer01? Any new apps or software since the issue began?

Thank you for the confirmation on that, Davidschafer01. If you go to the Google play store and search for the messaging + app, you should be able to uninstall the latest update. Please uninstall the latest update and see if the notifications reappear over the app when someone sends you a message. I'm not saying that this is a permeant solution. I just want to see if the issue persists or not if you uninstall the latest version.

Davidschaefer01, thanks for keeping us updated. Currently we are showing that this is a known issue on this deice with this application. If you go into setting and disable Verizon Messages Plus app and enable the regular Samsung Messaging option, does the notification show up for you?

I do not have a Samsung phone. I have a Moto z.
I have done this with the basic messaging app. A dot shows up on the icon
which is quite difficult to notice.
I prefer Message+. At this time I have enabled the pop up having no other
choice.

mentioned before.
Would you please send your suggestions to this email address?

I apologize for the duplicate question Davidschafer01. We want to be sure we get this resolved for you. Do you hear a notification sound when you receive a text? Can you please go to Settings, Apps, App manager. Then tap the Message Plus app. Then tap notifications. Tap any of the available options that would control the notifications, such as Block: "show no notifications for this app". Please keep us posted to see if this works.

I went to main screen and pressed on bare spot until HOME SCREEN SETTINGS showed up.
Click on it and hopefully you will see APP ICON BADGES shows up. I enabled it ant the count shows up.
Be aware if this example. You may have 3 unread message once you look at one message the count dissappears u til u get another text and then the count will show 3 again.
Took me 3 hours to stumble on this.
Hope it works for you.
