Messages+ error message:VMA DoProvision request failed

I tried to resync my phone with my tablet after my phone went to another provider (which uses the Verizon network). Here is the sequence of the issue:
- I moved my phone from Verizon wireless to a different provider (still on the Verizon network)
- My tablet, which was synced to that phone all of a sudden could not load Messages+ without erasing all the texts it had accumulated.
- When the erasing finished, Messages+ acted as if it had never been on my tablet before by sending me to the initial setup page "Start Messaging"
- When i enter the phone number to sync to it sends a text to my phone with a code.
- I enter the code and press "next" and get the error message: VMA DoProvision request failed.
- I disabled Messages from my tablet, cleared the data & cache and restarted my tablet - no luck.
Anyone know how to get around this? Is there someone at Verizon that I can talk to about this? My tablet is on Verizon account as well. This used to work fine until I removed my one phone from the Verizon provider.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Have you tried to uninstall it and then reinstall it.You can get it here
Verizon Messages - Android Apps on Google Play
but I have a feeling that it has something to do with your different provider. What provider is it?

Yes, I did the whole bit - cleared Data Cache, disabled the app then reinstalled the updates. I don't see how it is the provider since the table is Verizon and that's where I'm getting the error message after getting the security code on my phone. The provider for the phone is Flash Wireless.

MauiSpud56, we certainly want to do everything we can to help sync your messages. Let's gather some additional information to ensure that we're all on the same page. Can you please verify the make/model of your tablet and your cell phone? Are you currently able to use the Verizon Messages (Message+) app on your cell (without syncing) now that you're currently with a different provider?

Aloha,
The phone is a Samsung Note 4 and still can run Messages just fine. The tablet is a Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 and it used to run Messages just fine until i switched the phone. Once that happened, Messages cleared the data from my tablet and needed me to start over with the phone number. That's when I get the errors.
Thank you.

Is there nothing Verizon can or will do? At least have the courtesy to respond, please.

OK - waiting for over two months for even the courtesy of a reply. And you wonder why I went away from Verizon.

We understand your concern with this, MauiSpud56. The next step would be to complete a Factory Reset on your Tablet. It could be a log file saved that an error or update may have been corrupted after the device was transferred to your new carrier. You can use Verizon Cloud or another service to back up your content. Please let us know if you still have an issue with the application after.

The messages were syncing previously when using the Messages+ app from your number using the wireless network to your phone as well as the tablet you had linked due to the integrated messaging feature in your Verizon account, they weren't syncing from the actual phone itself to the tablet. (For example if the phone had been off, not in a service area, broken etc. the messages would still be usable on the tablet previously).
Once your phone number was terminated from the Verizon account it also stops all active billing/services/features, including integrated messaging, so there was nothing for the tablet to link to which was why the app no longer loaded what you had previously.
The Messages+ app can't sync messages on your tablet from your phone's number any longer since that number is now with Flash, a provider that doesn't offer an account option for integrated messaging.
You're getting an error message when trying to set that up now because Verizon can only provision account features for their subscribers.

Mahalo, deloused and JoshuaT, for your responses. deloused, I kind of figured that this is the case. My issue is that according to the Message+ description on Google Play: "Now anyone can download and chat with Verizon Messages, even non Verizon customers (available on compatible devices)."
I can't seem to find a list of compatible devices, however - I did not change devices - just provider. So, this is why I posted here. I suspect you are correct in your assessment but it seems that the description in the Play store should reflect that.
I really like the Messages+ app.

I have done extensive research on Flash Wireless. Thanks for the input. Still having the issue. Had to use Pulse messenger to accomplish this. Would rather use Messages+.

The issue I had was that I have a indirect account and for some reason messaging is block on my tab s3. The work around is they have to change it to a direct account so you can complete the setup after they can change it back

Getting your messaging working is important, ROBGRE32. Let's clarify a couple of things. Please elaborate on what you mean by 'indirect account'?

It's fixed. I work for a franchise (indirect) and messages+ didn't allow me to set up my account because messages on my tabs3 we're block for some reason for indirect accounts. They was able to solve this by changing to a direct account allowing me to complete the setup then switch it back to indirect once it had been setup.
