Moto x group issue

How do I get moto x to recognize my contact list? Will no access the list to add contacts to group.

Let's ensure you're able to stay in touch with friends and family in one simple group! Do you receive any type of error message when you head to add multiple contacts?

Head into Apps then People, To show or create a group of contacts, tap ( the icon with group of people in the upper right hand corner), then
tap the group at the bottom of the screen.
