Verizon Messages app missing messages

Hi there. I switched to Verizon last summer, and also started using the Messages app. I noticed that every few days I would receive a message on my phone that would not show up in the app (I'm not using an iPhone, so it isn't an iMessage issue). It was annoying, but acceptable b/c I could at least see the missing messages on my phone.
However, now I am working in a location that has no cell service of any kind...but we do have internet access, so I am able to use the app to receive messages on my laptop. This is great, except for the fact that now I can't see the messages that the Messages app misses. I have searched online and seen that others also have mentioned problems with the app missing messages, but no real solutions.
Can anyone from Verizon offer any suggestions of what steps may be taken to address this problem? Thanks in advance. If I can't find a way to ensure the messages are going to be reliably delivered to the app, then a switch in carriers will have to happen before my next deployment.

Yes Leroy, I have the same issue, and am hoping someone from Verizon will look into it. I got a reply and sent in more info 4 weeks ago, but have heard nothing since.
Maybe if we keep bringing the issue up, then eventually someone from Verizon will acknowledge that there is significant flaw in the Messages app.

This problem has nothing to do with a continent. I'm sitting in the center of the US and I'm also missing messages in the web app and other places. This is a Verizon problem, and I pay them enough money every month for their [Removed] to work as advertised.

The program or app if you will is provided free. It can disappear at any time, and as a result does not have to be thoroughly troubleshot as much as you THINK it should. It is a back burner to real issues like voice data etc. But, if someone doesn't get my text or I don't get their reply I pick up the phone send email etc. I don't rely on an app to be my end all be all.

You can make all the excuses you want, but they are providing a service and starting that it does something and the the associated messaging app is actively developed. If it's not behaving the way they claim that it should behave then they should acknowledge that and yank the product. Roll over all you want though.
Good day.

Having the same issue. I receive SMS/MMS messages reliably via Message+ on my Android phone, but messages go missing in the Message+ app on my Macbook Pro, and in the web version of the app.
I called customer service, was forwarded to some tech department, and the woman said she'd file a ticket of the problem with the appropriate team, and that turnaround time is 7-10 business days. I'll be back on this thread in two weeks reporting what I hear from them, if anything.

We are sorry about your experience with the application. If We filed a ticket, there should be details on the resolution. I apologize if you haven't heard anything. Have you contacted the tech team?

I completely understand your concern with this, Rskorecki. We would need to be able to troubleshoot with your phone while it is in the states as it may be an issue with your messages not being received because our servers are not able to ping the device thus showing that the message was not "received" to the person sending it.

Thanks for the reply Joshua.
I am currently in the USA. The problem is that messages are received by my phone...but sometimes those same messages are not shown on the Verizon Messages or Message+ service. The problem can't be with my phone...as all messages are shown there. The problem is with the Verizon Messages/Message+ service when viewed on my laptop or ipad.
As I've previously mentioned, the only time this is a true problem is when I am traveling outside of cell service (not just roaming...I mean truly outside of cell service...where there is simply no signal whatsoever...so my phone can't receive any signals from any cell tower anywhere...for more than a few days)...in those situations, I am only able to check my messages using my laptop (not allowed to connect my phone via wifi due to internet security protocols where I work). Sometimes people who send me text messages sometimes report that they have sent me messages but never heard back. This is b/c the Messages/Messages+ service does not display them for some reason. The person sending the message doesn't know that I didn't receive the message, and I don't know that the sender tried to message me.
Sometimes when I am in cell service (like now), I am actually able to witness the problem in real time..as a message is received by my phone but not shown on the Messages or Message+ app when I look on my laptop. I have screenshots that I am happy to share with you if it will help to demonstrate/prove that there is a flaw in the current system.
Thanks for any suggestions or other thoughts about ways to fix this...but I can assure you the problem is not with my phone.
Cheers...

Get over it. Verizon does not have coverage there, and internet coverage is also affected. Tell people to email you instead. You are beating a dead horse since January. Let it go.

Hi pherson,
I'm simply trying to get a resolution to an issue with a Verizon service. Internet access and cellular service are two different things. I understand that you may not have a similar issue...you don't need to keep reading this thread then. You are correct, there is not cell service where I work. This is the main reason why I would like the Verizon message service to work reliably online. The internet service where I work is not affected by the lack of cell service.
The reason I switched to Verizon was specifically for the possibility of using the messaging service when cell service is not available. If you read some of the other replies, you will see that other users are experiencing the same issue that I am. It's great that you do not, I wish my experience with Verizon was as positive as yours. Thanks.

We want to see you be able to rely on the service we offer and I apologize you have been dealing with this for so long! Have you seen any pattern in the type of messages being missed for instance are they longer than 180 characters or do they contain emojis? Does it seem this occurs with users of a certain carrier or that have a certain type of device? I would suggest Unsubscribing the "Integrated Messaging" feature via Message+>Menu>Settings then subscribe once more.

Hi YaleK,
Thanks for the message and suggestion. Of the messages I know I've missed, there doesn't seem to be a pattern...iphone/android...MMS/SMS...I can't say there is any consistency to it. If it would help for you to see screenshots of what I'm talking about, just tell me what email address to send them to, as opposed to posting them here. I can share screenshots of the same message thread as displayed on my phone, laptop, and ipad...with certain messages missing from 2 of the 3.
I did just try your suggestion of unsubscribing the "integrated messaging" feature in the message+ app...but when I go to settings I don't see such an option. However, I did go to the "disconnect device" tab, and disconnected my laptop...and then reconnected. I'll let you know what happens.
Thanks again for the efforts.

I'm still having the exact same problem till now. Messenger+ on iPad would miss msgs randomly. Good concept but really poor quality App.
The developers working on the Messenger+ App should learn something from Google Voice/Hangouts App developers.

We certainly want to see this resolved once and for all. Have you tried removing the connected device from the Message+ app on your Smartphone and re-adding it? Does it appear there is any apttern in the messages that you have not received over the past several months?

First the app doesn’t seem to be able to receive free vzw msgs like those with an account login verification code.
Secondly If I start message+ app manually, or power cycle my ipad quickly after I start the app, it most likely will receive msgs from other users
If I turns off my iPad overnight, the app will have difficulty receiving msgs next day unless I starts it manually.
This issue occurs more often over cellular data connection than over wifi connection.

Just reporting back that I never heard anything about my ticket submission that I detailed in my post of Jun 17, 2017, not even a confirmation that my issue report was received.
As of this morning, the problem persists.

The problem of mismatches between the Message+ app on the Android phone, the Windows 10 desktop, and the Verizon website persists. Numerous threads covering this problem go back 5 years and it is still not resolved. All I see are delaying tactics and long periods of no activity in the threads. It is obviously squarely on Verizon's shoulders to resolve and they refuse to do anything. What are our options?

Hello All,
I am specificly trying to get a code from Google voice to move a number off verizon. I can message back and forth between google fi and Verizon Messages online, however, when i send the code to verify the number, it does not show up on the Verizon messages. I do not care about Verizon anymore. I've paid them enough money for a lifetime of service. Reminds me of long distance charges from the early 90's. Anyway, definatly an issue with Verizon trying to protect something.
Thanks!
