We never like to hear that you are having trouble with your device. Help has arrived to get those pictures out the right way. When did this issue begin? Do you recall what was happening right before this began on your device? Were there any changes made to the device recently?

I have the same problem - Pixel 5.
Actually, we got two Pixel 5s. One works fine. The other rotates pictures on send. Look fine in gallery and does not rotate in Google Messages, but the Vzn Message+ rotates. I cleared cache, cleared date, reinstalled, etc. Still rotates. If I crop the image and save, it sends correctly, but unedited photos do not work.
Portrait, Landscape - doesn't matter. They all send rotated.

Seems the problem is more Message+ if it's not doing that with Google messenger.
We know how important your messages are for you. It does sound like this is an issue with Message+. Does this also happen if you send a video?

This is stupid. Having the problem so if the sudden with my pixel 3a. Also saw this was happening to people back in 2017. Which wasn't resolved and the thread was locked due to the age of the thread. Doesn't happen with my Google messaging either. Way to work hard on solving your customers problems and just trying to find excuses with their hardware.
Started about mid-November 2020 for myself and my wife. Pixel 3 XL and a Pixel 3. Had to switch to Google Messages to make photos send without being rotates counter-clockwise 90 degrees. There may have been a camera update around that time so maybe the Google Camera update does not work well with Message+???
Thanks for those details, Jakesroberts. I'm glad that you found a way to send those pictures correctly with a different messaging application. While we do not see anything within our resources, it is possible that the latest update has some conflicts with Message+ and other applications. Google is very good pushing updates and patches, I would recommend to wait for the next Google update and see if it makes a difference.
Another option to resolve post software update issues is to do a factory reset on your devices (https://www.verizon.com/support/knowledge-base-220005/).

I have completed a factory reset. Made sure all apps are up to date. Tried on wifi and on data.
Still have the same issue on two seperate phones.

Same as the rest, mid-November. I must have the lastest message+ since I deleted and reinstalled today. Same problem persists.

I am having the same problem as everyone else -- have a Pixel 4, and after a recent update (maybe the Pixel camera app?), the Messages+ app (and ONLY Messages+) is turning my portrait (vertical) pictures SIDEWAYS when I attach them to messages in Messages+.
PLEASE GET WITH GOOGLE AND FIX THIS ASAP.

We want to make sure that your messages are sent properly and successfully, sdcrane. Did this issue happen prior to the update that was done? Does this happen with every picture you send? What happens when you try to send a video message? Do the pictures send normally when using the native messaging app?

Go to your settings in your camera itself and change your picture aspect from full 4:3 to the wide 16:9 .this worked for my new pixel 5 with my message plus app
Tried the camera setting change and it did not fix the issue.

I'm having the same issue. There was just a software update maybe that's what happened. I have note 20. And use message+

Hello, Terrilynn008. We know how annoying it can be to receive images that are supposed to be in portrait mode but end up being in landscape. The one who receives the image has to edit the photo to view it correctly. Try going to your Camera app > Settings icon > Format and advanced options > and switch HEIF format off.
