Recently updated my Verizon router and extender-- I believe it is the CE1000A. I have a few 10/100 devices like a Vera controller and sonos products. The Vera must be wired to be stable. I plug in a gigabit ethernet switch into the Extender that has coax backhaul to the router. I had no issues with my old extender but now the wifi speed and wired speed form the Extender goes down to 10/10. If I plug in my apple TV which is a gigbit device as far as I understand the wifi speed slows but is acceptable. 486/294 to 370/105. I would be happy at 100/100 or thereabouts but 10/10 is not usable for work. The new extender doesn't seem to negotiate speeds at all.
Tech support sent me a new Extender early on but that did nothing. I wonder if the Verizon or a third party Moca adapter would work better? I can at least plug in the Apple TV into the Ethernet port on the extender. I have the Coax split two ways now--one to the extender and the other for the FIOS TV. Any guidance much appreciated. I am not an engineer.
