LG Exalt to use with Bluetooth phone needs to be open

According to a post in comments 9/28 on Verizon, the Exalt requires the phone to be open when using a Bluetooth devise. They called LG and they confirm that the phone has to be open. I need to use a Bluetooth devise. Sort of defeats the purpose of the Bluetooth don't you think? I also called LG and they gave me the same response, that the phone needs to be open. I just got my Exalt so I will be returning it. Verizon has been notified.

If you wanted assistance from the community members would have been better if you created a discussion instead of a blog post in a community space not meant for basic phone questions.
