According to the Internet, WZME was sold to another broadcasting company.

On 4/1, they moved ME TV to 43.2 and added Story TV to 43.1

So unless Fios gets a deal with the new station to carry both channels, you will only have Story TV.

If it is worth anything, you should be able to catch it on an antenna.

MeTV+ is being discussed over on DSLReports. Here is the link to the topic:

I use Fios without a set-top box (coax to the TV).

MeTV+ was on channel 43.1 until a few days ago.

Now channel 43.1 has "Story Television".

Has MeTV+ moved to another channel or is it being discontinued?

Thanks.

Check with the station on channel 43.

I saw another post that it was moved to channel 43.2

So try rescanning your TV.

thanks for the reply.

Re-scan is the first thing I tried, and no change.

43.1 is on us-cable channel 78.

43.2 doesn't show up.

Output from my tuner:

us-cable channel 78 QAM Carrier: 549MHz

LOCK: qam256 (ss=88 snq=100 seq=100)
TSID: 0x0001

PROGRAM 1025: 2.1 WCBS-HD
PROGRAM 3720: 43.1 WZME HD <<< was MeTV+, now is Story Television

A FiOS customer support agent consulted with their technical people and said this is a broadcaster issue, and that I should contact MeTV for help.  I left a voice message and sent an email to MeTV.

Hopefully this will be resolved soon.

I'm aware WZME moved METV+ to channel 43.2 so why can't Verizon carry it from there? Oh wait I know...they want more money to carry it. Don't worry about what the people want. Good job Verizon!

I don't know how Verizon manages the channels they deliver on their network or how they obtain new  channels.

Maybe when WZME put Story Television in place of MeTV+ and moved it to 43.2, Verizon was unaware of the change so nothing was done.

I was surprised when the Verizon agent told me to contact the broadcaster, as I always see notices from various broadcasters saying to notify your provider if you don't get a channel.

yea. verizon aint making enough money , they got to mess with a channel that alot of seniors watch , because it was descent TV programming, not the rude , vulgar , commercial TV that they cash in on

Again this is not Verizon's fault. Weigal Broadcasting bought WZME TV to put their Story TV programming on. However when the deal closed Story TV wasn't broadcasting yet. Rather than have the station dark until Story TV started, Weigel put METV+ on the channel as something to broadcast until Story TV was ready.

FYI Weigel also owns Decades, Movies!, Start TV, and H&I( Heroes and Icons) all sub channels that are broadcast on the NY Fios system below channel 500.  The only channel of their's that Fios doesn't carry is METV+ .

Amazing and annoying that when I chatted for an hour with two different Fios folks, they had no idea what I was talking about - at least they feigned ignorance. I had to send a picture of the Guide showing Story TV - and they still couldn't/wouldn't give me an answer. I expect better for my $200 a month.

I too chatted with a FiOS agent and sent a picture showing Story Television was where MeTV+ was.

They first told me to disconnect/reconnect the coax cable to the TV and rescan. I replied that the same issue is occurring on multiple TVs.  That's when they said I need to contact the broadcaster at the following phone number.

1-833-367-6388

I left a voice message after many rings with nobody answering, and also sent a message via this link.

Maybe if enough people complain it will be resolved.

I wish the entertainment industry would produce old shows again. 🙂

Bring back my metv. I am so annoyed that curtesy was not thought of to let your customers know that Verizon was moving the station. Please let us know when you will be returning the station.

After several chat session with verizon agents giving me differing answers, I talked to a Fios customer support agent via phone. Explained the situation with MeTV+ moving to a different channel, and requested it be added to the lineup.

The agent told me verizon has no control over the channels they provide.

I replied that it doesn't make sense. Someone at the head end must be deciding and configuring their systems to deliver channels to our homes.

He just repeated the comment that they don't have control and would not even submit a request.
SAD.

I guess my next step is to reconnect to that old antenna.

One thing that can be tried is to use the coaxial feed from the ONT as an antenna.

As a test, I disconnected the coaxial cable from the back of the mini in my bedroom and attached it to the F connector on the back of the television. I then had the TV scan and remember available channels.

There were quite a few stations captured. 🙂

Coax from the ONT to my devices is all I use. I don't have a set top box.

Below are the unencrypted channels from a few minutes ago.

See my previous post. The content on channel 43.1 was changed.

I believe it is up to the local channel to request Verizon to carry its station if Verizon does not carry it and not the other way around. Has anyone asked WZME  43.2 or WJLP 33.8 , both in the NY metro area, to request that Verizon carry their subchannel that broadcasts METV+? Also per the METV+ website the subschannel is SD and broadcasts at 480i .

I voice the same complaint as many. MeTV needs to come back to Fios in the DMV. Many have talked about "cutting the cable" and I am close to that point. It appears Verizon has very little concern about its customers. There tendency to drop channels without much notice is unbelievable. There is a tendency to show the SAME movies/shows over and over and over again. How many times/day or days in a row, do I have to watch "A Few Good Men"? I watched the Travel Channel when it actually showed travel shows (believe it or not). Now the channel has been relegated to the "paranormal". I have no problem with the paranormal shows....however, CHANGE the name of the channel!!!! I feel Verizon says "give them anything, they will be OK". There is more to vent but I feel it falls on deaf ears.
