Can't get rid of on screen display while watching FIOS On-demand movie

I'm watching a FIOS on demand movie for the first time. There's a box at the bottom of the picture with the move info, like how much time is left in the movie,  etc. How can I get this to disappear?  If I press exit on remote, it disappears only briefly.

I stopped, and then resumed playback of movie  all ok now...
