For the past several weeks I've had a problem with channels not being available. Sometimes it wil be most of the HBO/Cinemax chnnels, sometimes the Encore channels. I haver chatted repeatedly with tech support to no avail. I had one apppointment scheduled but the channels began working perfectly so I cancelled it. Today it's 340, 341, 342, 343, 348, 349, 350, 351, 352, 353, 354, 355, 356, 357, 358, 359, 360, 361, 363, 375, 377, 379, 400, 401, 402, 403, 404, 405, 406, 407, 412, 413, 420, 421, 422, 423, 424, 425. Other channels are fine.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks.

Solved! Go to Correct Answer
The Verizon tech just came out and replaced the ONT and everything's good now. he said that some of the updates that Verizon sent to the ONT failed and caused this. Everything seems OK now.

MAY, repeat may, be bad wiring, splitters, barrel connectors. Try loosening and tightening all the connectors.
I have tried replacing/tightening the wires (with triple shielded coax cable), replacing the splitter (with gold plated connectors) all to no avail. The problem persists.
Right now the diagnostics say the following:
SNR Value: 0 db
Frequency: 0 MHZ
Short Term Error Count: 0
Carrier Lock: False
This indicates an outage, correct?

I just fixed a similar problem and it turned out after replacing the ONT the problem was corrected. I don't know if that is your issue but it couldn't hurt.

what is ont?
Optical Network Termination.
It is the box on the wall outside your house that Coax connects to.
