Cisco STB no longer playing MDVR recordings - locked up after Fast Forward

I have a Cisco MDVR and Cisco HD STB's with 1.9 code. When I play a recording on another STB and I use FF, the image freezes and the STB returns to normal broadcast. Once this happens I am no longer to play any recordings on that STB. The recordings still play on the DVR itself and other STB's, but when I use FF on any other STB it will lock it up as well.

Rebooting the STB does not help, nor does rebooting the DVR.

Support had me do a whole house reset: unplug everything, factory reset the gateway using the pinhole button at the back, and then powering up the DVR and subsequently the STB's.

This cleared the issue and FF seemed to work, but two weeks later I ran into the same issue again with one of the STB's when I was FF'ing at 4x to try and jump about 20 minutes forward.

I really would like this to work without having to do the whole house reset and the factory reset of the gateway because that wipes out all my gateway setting and my WEP key.

SUPPORT: PLEASE ASSIST and find a permanent solution for me.
