For months I have been unable to watch FIOS TV. I've called 4 times and been on hold for up 30 minutes.  I have a very busy schedule and admittedly have not stayed on Verizon to get the problems solved. If I really want to watch TV I use the 12" vanilla tv with the stb back in the corner of my office.

Along the way I switched from HDMI to component cables at Verizon's suggestion. Nope - didn't work.

So I determine that today is the day I'll get some satisfaction or cancel the service. I called at 9 am, at at 9:15 got a live person...not too bad. Raymond reset the box and promised to call back in 10 min. Now I've been through this before without a callback or resolution of the problem. Today when I received no callback by 10 am I called again. Tim was the rep this time and he explained he would reset the box to factory settings and if that didn't work I would get a new box. It took exactly 3 minutes for the box to fail again. Tim promised a callback also but so far no joy.

Here are my questions:

1. Is it possible that my Panasonic  HDTV will not work with Verizon's current DVR box? The first box I had worked flawlessly until it up and died about 10 months ago.

2. Is there anything I can do to get Verizon to resolve my problem other than repeated calls and suffering through the automated menu system and then getting essentially the same attempted fixes by the service tech. Perhaps a letter to the CEO and Board of Directors?

I'm not into TV technology and don't even have external speakers or a dvd player - I really only want to turn on the tv, set on the couch and watch it....maybe rent a movie once every 6 months or so. As long as the remote works I don't care how fancy the guide is or how much capacity the DVR has. But dang it I expect the service to work.

I realize this is a rant and thank you for getting this far.

Sorry to hear about your problems, LindaJ, but having suffered a number of such issues myself I clearly understand the frustration. Could you provide more information about what you see happen? What do you mean by "6416 recycle"? Without a bit more specific info, it's hard to recommend something to try without randomly suggesting things.  FYI, your Panasonic is compatible with all appropriate industry technology.  Thank you.

Even though I said I wouldn't suggest random fixes, here's one that seems unique to Panasonic. I stumbled across some other forums and Panasonic owners who reported various issues that were remedied by disabling Viera Link in the TV menu. You might try that. Thank you.
