Extra line on guide

We have the Quantum VMS1100 serving one HDTV.   Works great, except the Guide seems to have a quirky "feature" of adding a line above the active channel.   For example, if we are watching channel 519 and hit Guide on the remote, the display shows the guide with channels 517 and 518, then it shows and expanded 519 with all the info about the currently tuned channel.   I would expect channel 519 in this example to be the first line of info in the Guide, followed by the list of available channels below it, instead of above and below the tuned channel.

Is there a setting that allows me to change this so that the active channel is the first in the list?

Hopefully this makes sense, especially when looking at the attached Guide picture.image

That is the way the Verizon guide works, you cannnot change it. It has been that way for years, I like it because it allows me to see what is one the adjacent channels, both above and below. FWIW, I have cable service at a weekend house and the guide there shows the current channel at the top, and I find it much less usable.

after looking at the picture of your guide , i thought for sure  the extra line you were going to ask about was the one that mentions

"good day dc"  ......do you find it odd that the uppermost line has no identifying  channel or logo at leftmost end?

Note the info is not about the currently tuned channel, but about the currently selected program in the guide.  May be a different channel and a later time.

Yes several other guides do the same think about showing some channels as well as after the one you are on.  No they don't give you an option to change this.

I also have a different service at a beach house, that guide is much easyier to follow, not to mention I can talk into the remote. I would like to see the list of channels and shows w/out the info unless I selected it. It is difficult/clumsy to follow. I expected Verizon to be more cutting edge than the others and allow for better options setting up the guide.
