How long does it take for HBO to be available after it is added to existing service?

We ordered HBO today, and were hoping to watch it this evening. Does it really take 2 days for service to be enabled?

When I added HBO last June, it took less than 12 hours.  Even when I changed the package again, it came back overnight.
