I was wonder if anyone or a verizon rep could help me. I have four QIP 7xxx boxes that I have been wanting to move into cabinets but haven't found an IR extender kit to work with them. I tried several that work with my Blu-ray players, but don't work with the STB. I then searched this forum and and found several references to Verizon providing an IR Extension cable that plugs into the back of the STB. I spent a very frustrating hour being transferred around Verizon's 888-553-1555. The first rep said that sales doesn't know anything about it and I need to go to "verizon Solutions". Verizon Solutions said that they have them but that the "warranty on my wiring" had expired so they could send them and I need to talk to billing. Billing said that they had no way of ordering them for me.
I was never told these existed when I added three of the boxes six months ago. Can anyone help me figure out how to speak to someone who can help me get the IR cables?
Thanks!

This may or may not help you, but I came across these in a magazine article:
http://www.amazon.com/Sewell-InjectIR-Remote-Control-Extender/dp/B0052YWM3W
I am not affiliated with Sewell or Amazon.

We do have an IR extender that is used when there is IR interference from an HD TV set. However, the length to the IR extender that we have is only about 4 feet. I am assuming that won't be sufficient for your needs. What I believe would be the best solution for your need is a device called an IR Blaster. The idea is the same but this would allow you to run lines that would be greater in length so that you would be able to put all of the STB's in a singal location. We do not sell or carry the IR Blasters as this peace of equipment would be a 3rd party device and may require some investigation on your part as far as compatibility.

Thanks for the posts. In 3 of the four cases, A four foot cable would work. How can I get those besides driving to a FIOS store (20 miles away for me)?

Gammanet - What Box are you using this extender on? I've tried it on my QIP-7100-2 and QIP-7320-2, it didn't work on either. ...are you plugging it directly into the box or using it with an external IR Blaster?
I contacted monoprice (someone else mentioned that they used it on a moto box in the reivews), monoprice support explicitly stated that it will not work with the moto STB boxes, only their custom patch panels
PS... verizon sells these on their fios accessories page for $9.99. They *use to* give them away for free.
