I'm currently a subscriber of FiOS phone and Internet and want to upgrade to TV as well. We currently have Fios local channels but don't even use the service, as we have Comcast for that. But they said that in order to get the service installed, there would be an installation fee of like $150 or something. I feel like that's insane. Because it's like they're charging us to pay for them. Who would ever do that? I even tried to get them to remove that fee but they wouldn't do it. Any suggestions?

They have to send somone out to install the service and verify everything is ok.

You can ask if they will allow a self install.

You will still be charged a shipping fee.

Not sure about other providers, but it wouldn't surprise me if most or all charge an installation fee.

I have even seen a fee when you upgrade your cellphone.
