Is that a good or bad thing?
Hopefully this gets resolved soon, this is the only thing the horrible cablvision has left over Verizon.

Almost certainly a good thing.
Verizon has already forwarded its arguments to the FCC. As long as the FCC can come up with a policy that will not be seen as arbitrary, then MSG (and in the future others such as Comcast) will be ordered to provide the option for FIOS. AT&T and Satellite providers to carry such channels. For us with FIOS that means MSG HD channels will be available.

I wonder if there's any incentive for the FCC to resolve this prior to the NHL and NBA seasons (tentatively for the NBA) starting in November. I've seen some pressure with things like YES, when they were pulled from certain TV providers and wonder if this could be the same sort of thing. Would really love to have the Rangers in HD this year.

Can someone from Fios please state the status of the MSGHD situation as the solution you show is obscure and unintelligable. When I signed on to Fios I was guaranteed that Fios would have MSGHD by hockey season. It is fustrating that no official information on progress or status is easy to find or is forthcoming.I'm starting to question my decision to switch to FIOs!

What's the hold up? I use the word s hold up for a reason. FCC agrees with Verizon that cablevision should make MSG HD available, yet there is nothing done. No action by the FCC to make things right. I ask why. Could it possibly be collusion? A monopoly perhaps? Lobbyist money (payola) to the FCC? All of the above? I remember when these same people wanted to wire up the five boroughs of New York back in the 80's. Cablevision needed the local government to grant permission and that included a stipulation providing access to all, or should I say availability to all consumers equally. This is before they were permitted (How they managed that is another story) to purchase just about all the local New York teams. This is a firm and clear example of the abuse of power acquired by cablevision through the blind eye of the government. If you want to see your favorite sports teams TOO BAD! cablevision owns them. You pay cablevision and you can see your favorite team in HD. No pay cablevision - No HD! Here's the best part, where ya gonna go? The FCC? ha ha ha. Gotcha.

Who knows whats holding this up! No official information since March 2011. It is now September 2011. How can we blame the FCC or cablevision when we don't know what's going on. This is very frustrating. Sent an email to fios and no reply. Two posts and no reply.Got much better communication and customer servics from cablevision when I used their service! Probabally going back real soon. Was guarranteed fios would carry msg hd and msg plus hd by start of hockey season, BOLD FACED LIE! How about defending yourself FIOS and replying!

Check around.
The FCC ruling had been appealed to the courts and the court reached a decision June 10.
The courts ruling is posted here »www.cadc.uscourts.gov/internet/o···2593.pdf
Essentially ruled the FCC could make such rulings, but could not be arbitrary. it was sent back to the FCC to revise.
So we are waiting on the FCC.
