It is hockey season!! What's up w/MSG in standard def and not in HD?
We'd love to have the Weather Channel w/ "Local on the 8's" for Poughkeepsie, NY and not NYC. Big difference in our weather, especially in the winter!!
AMC
Thanks
Comcast will not allow other providers to carry MSG in HD> Both Verizon and ATT have filed complaints with the FCC over this issue but it is not likely to get any results. At least not this year. Right now MSG in HD is a comcast exclusive channel
Actually it's Cablevision (owner of MSG) that won't let competitors have MSG HD. I think it may be on Time Warner and Comcast in the NY sports region, but only because they do not compete directly with Cablevision. Cablevision is using the 'terrestrial loophole" as a way to not have to sell the HD channel to Verizon. Cablevision owns the Rangers, but maybe the Islanders and/or Devils should consider going to SNY or YES.
yup your right. for some reason I keep getting cablevision and comcast mixed up. wonder why that is.......
Yeah this is the BIGGEST sports issue on FIOS. Cablevision needs to be spanked. I hope Verizon and AT&T sue them and force them to sell the channel. If the Knicks become a good team and Lebron joins the Knicks this will become an even bigger issue.
Potential good news about the terrestrial loophole- http://www.multichannel.com/article/440457-FCC_To_Propose_Ending_Terrestrial_Exemption_Source.php
Let's see if and when our government acts on this. Closing the loophole will eliminate the excuses that Cablevision, Comcast, and Cox use to withhold exclusive sports content from certain providers.
