New Customer - Fan Noise

We just had Fios installed yesterday. We have a Motorola DVR in the bedroom and the cooling fan is very loud. It didn't start out that way, but after about 30 minutes it kicked into high gear. It hasn't stopped all afternoon. We thought it was just the DVR but now when we turn everything off the fan still run. Nothing is blocking the fan. We've actually put small boxes under the legs to allow more air flow. No change. Please advise.

Interesting that you mention this. I've had FIOS TV for about three and a half years with a Motorola DVR (model QIP 7216). Up until two days ago, it made no noise at all. Then the fan kicked into high speed and has been running 24/7 ever since. I've unplugged it to reset it and pulled the whole thing out to blow out all the dust with compressed air. No dice. I'm gonna try a live person in tech support to see if they have any advise.
