No eSata port on 6416 DVR

I have been so excited about the 1.9 upgrade allowing the use of an external hard drive that I just assumed that I would benefit.  In looking at my 6416 DVRs, however, it appears that neither has an eSata port.  (the manual shows the port, but it is not on either pf my boxes).  Am I missing something?  Is it worth asking Verizon toswap out my boxes for a different DVR?

I think the twitter guy said that they will come out with a website where you can sign up for a replacement.  wait for that and do it one time.
