Poor picture quality with HDMI Cable for Vizio tv

Somebody help if they can!!!

   We bought our first LCD Flatscreen at Sams, ViZIO brand. It looked great in the store, perfectly clear and had anAmazing picture then we get it home hooked it up to the Verizon box with an HDMI cable and the pictures fuzzy, and unclear. What the heck? Could it be the TV or what could be the matter?

Hi airedna323, sorry your picture isn't up to par. There could be a number of things at issue. It depends on how "fuzzy" and "unclear" your picture is. If its just not as clear as you thought it would be, make sure you are on HD channels, they begin in the 500s. If its the same on SD or HD channels, make sure you have only the hdmi coming from the stb to the tv. Make sure you have HD programming on your account. Here are a few other things you can try: reseat the hdmi cable at both ends, reseat the coax going to "FiOS TV in" at both ends, try a different hdmi port and/or cable. Sometimes at stores they are playing blue ray which looks even better, then you get it home and it's just not as good.

Please disconnect all cables from the verizon settop box except 1) power cable. 2) HDMI cable 3) Co-axial cable conencting to the wall.
